Sovereign Arbitration Advisors is proud to collaborate with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on a technical assistance program aimed at strengthening the governance of international investment agreements (IIAs) and regional trade agreements (RTAs) in Uzbekistan.
As part of this initiative, our Counsel, Dorieke Overduin, together with Climate Change Counsel’s Annette Magnusson, has been engaged as an independent expert to support governments in enhancing domestic policymaking, promoting transparency, and improving intergovernmental coordination. The program is designed to align investment and trade policies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mitigate investment-related disputes, and ultimately increase the effectiveness of these agreements.
The first seminar took place on 7 February 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, bringing together policymakers and experts to discuss best practices and policy reforms. The program will continue throughout 2025, delivering targeted capacity-building sessions across the region.
