Dorieke Overduin
Counsel
Dorieke is Counsel at Sovereign Arbitration Advisors. She specializes in international arbitration and national court litigation. She has experience with ICSID and UNCITRAL proceedings; has appeared before the European Court of Justice; and has participated in national court proceedings across diverse jurisdictions. She is qualified to practice law in the Netherlands.

Dorieke’s background is firmly rooted in the public sector. She was part of the European Union’s negotiation teams with the United States (TTIP) and Canada (CETA); authored the 2019 Dutch model bilateral investment treaty; and led the legal team of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy in international litigation and arbitration proceedings.

In addition, Dorieke brings a wealth of experience related to the sanctions and national security regime as well as the nascent investment screening mechanism of the Netherlands and, more broadly, the European Union.
